Mars Institute - To further the scientific study, exploration, and public understanding of Mars.

Mars Institute Endowment Fund

The Mars Institute will shortly be creating an endowment to help with the long-term financial security of the Institute. As part of our 5 year strategic plan we wish to create a minimum $5.0 million endowment and to establish a minimum of 1 endowed chair.

Why Does the Mars Institute Need an Endowment Fund?

The scientific study, continuing robotic exploration and future human exploration of Mars are all long term projects. The Institute has to plan in both the long and short term. Recessive economic trends, changes in public policy and funding all affect financial stability. Faced with such uncertainties, the fund is of vital support to the Institute. Earnings from the fund's assets ensure the continuation of the Institute's work without interruption.
